Money Saving car Transport Ship Sets Sail

Till now the ship Auriga Leader can be considered lucky because most of the ships carrying cars are languishing globally. But the pride of NYK Line has continued to be busy carrying sparkling new Japanese Toyotas to the West Coast of USA.
The problem of the automobile industry is a global phenomenon. It has now spilled onto the oceans. The transportation business that had once flourished by carrying vehicles around the globe has suffered hand in hand with the manufacturers of automobiles.
NYK claims that more than other line it has the maximum number of ships that carry cars. Nearly a fifth of its jumbo 120 carriers are lying idle. These are fully manned and geared to start off if the market hits back.
After the car sales reached the bottom the monthly quota of Toyota shipments from Japan to the West Coast fell to only one last February. At that point unsold vehicles were stacked up in the docks of California’s Long Beach. The company was desperately hunting around for more storage units said Brian Mason who deals with the shipping logistics of Toyota.
With the slight easing of the recession Toyota is now dispatching seven shiploads of these cars per month. It is a modest improvement but nothing compared to the ten or twelve ships that used to sail in just a few years ago.
The picking up of business is prompting NYK. Taro Matsushige, a senior manager of the firm said, “If anything, we are pulling more ships back in service.” At present the line is trying its best to save dollars wherever and whenever it can. They are reducing their speed to save on fuel. What used to take 12 days is now being covered in 15 days.
Money is being saved by NYK in another way. The ships are so timing their entry into the ports so that it is day and not night. At night the harbour authorities charge steeper rates.
The Auriga Leader made its virgin trip in January boasts of another money saving contraption. Solar panels atop the decks numbering 328, produce sufficient strength from the Sun to provide power to machinery of the ship for steering the gears and running ventilations fans on the cargo decks.
In the first trip this 656′ ship capable of lugging 6,200 vehicles on 12 decks tugged in only 4,000 cars.

If you are planning to travel in a far place, you have to plan it ahead of time. Think of the things that you need while travelling, especially if you are with your kids on your car, consider their needs so they will feel comfortable while on a long drive.
Learn how many hours or driving you will have in able to reach your destination; many people usually miscalculate the travel and end up with having problem along the way. You should at least be familiar of the road, it will be better to take note of those places that you can have a stopover to have some rest. Most of the time it will be better to learn the  best time to travel so you can anticipate the time of your arrival on every stopover.
Prepare something to eat while traveling, give your kids food they want to eat, consider those easy to prepare food. You can have chips and some heavy food such as bread or sandwich. Pillow is needed to give you comfort and can help you nap while traveling.
But above all, you have to check on the condition of your car, make sure that your car is in a good running condition. Check your break and tires; inflate your reserve tire so you can use it in case of emergency.
But if you want to save time in traveling and if you have extra money, you can have car transport service to transport your car to the place you will be going. You can take the plane to save some time from travelling and have car transportation company work in shipping your car.
